Opera Will Not Save As Text

The new version of the Opera browser (Version 10.60) has a Save As Text option, but the resultant file is just the original HTML, not the text. Has anybody noticed this (or found a fix) ? Previous versions, however, worked.

I find it convenient to save various HTML pages that include tables of integers as text for later processing by Perl.

The option is hidden under the logo (top left) — [ now displaying the word Menu ]. Click on Page and then Save As. Choose one of five formats:

  • HTML file
  • HTML file with images
  • Web archive (single file)
  • Text file
  • All files (*.*)

Web archive works well, producing an MHT file including the HTML and images somewhat like an email file with attachments.

However, Text file does not.
